Seeds of Light
Inspired by the organic forms of seed pods from the Camel Thorn tree. A juxtaposition between the harsh elements of the dusty thorny scrub of Africa and the emblematic seeds of a new life. I sourced and collected the driftwood in the dry riverbeds of the semi-desert of northern Kenya. The framework was made of bound spines of the coconut leaf which every kenyan lady uses in her household as a broom.
Materials: driftwood, coconut spine, parchment paper, LED’s.
Each sculpture approx. 4 x 2 x 1.5 Meters
